Dr. Pete Crabb appointed as NNU Faculty Athletics Representative

October 8, 2019

Dr. Pete Crabb, Professor of Finance and Economics, has been appointed by President Joel Pearsall to serve as the NNU Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR). Crabb will be taking the place of Duane Slemmer, who has served as the FAR for the past 12 years.

The FAR helps provide oversight of the athletics programs, working to ensure institutional control and academic integrity. The duties of the FAR focus on administration, compliance, education and student-athlete welfare.

“Athletics is one of the most important and most visible co-curricular activities on every college campus,” said Crabb. “At an NCAA Division II program like ours, student-athletes learn and develop through their desired academic pursuits, in civic engagement with their communities, and in athletics competition. I am excited to be part of the team that supports student-athletes on and off the field.”

Crabb has given 20 years of support and commitment to the University and its athletics program, and will continue to carry on his dedication in this new role.
